Biography

JENNIFER WOODMAN: always intrigued by the human image, has been professionally photographing people since 1991. Her focus is to artistically record life's milestones; love, marriage, motherhood, and human growth. Outside of the studio, Jennifer's great loves are her husband, Tom, and their two daughters who constantly inspire her art.

PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Jennifer studied graphic art in college. Since 1996, she has studied with Master Photographer, Monte Zucker, who was honored with the 2002 United Nations Photographer of the Year award. She continues to study and perfect her photographic technique through numerous courses, seminars and industry conventions.

Her other accomplishments include: being published in Metro Detroit Bride, Signature 48230, The Knot Weddings Michigan and The Metro Times, contributing many photographs for Dolphin Quest Costa Rica's website, speaking at the MOMS Club of Grosse Pointe, and working for the Children's Home of Detroit, Planned Parenthood, Greening of Detroit, Historic Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and Metropolitan Detroit Choral.

WHAT MAKES REDWOOD PHOTOGRAPHY DIFFERENT

Jennifer articulates:

FLEXIBILITY

I try to be flexible in all aspects of my work from appointment times and pricing structures to session locations and photographic style. I find that being flexible opens me up to trying new things and keeps my work exciting.

EXPERIENCE

I am able to use my past experiences to help me in my current work. I enjoyed my work as a tutor and preschool teacher. I am excited to continue my work and play with children while capturing their little personalities for friends and families to cherish for years to come. For a number of years I worked as a banquet waitress catering to many brides and grooms and their families. I truly enjoy continuing my service in the wedding industry in a more personal fashion.

EASYGOING PERSONALITY

I enjoy working with people and find it easy to get along with them. I take the time to discuss each individual's needs before their sitting to make sure that we have the same vision for the final portrait.

SKILLS

I have studied with some the best photographers in the world and continue to educate myself and update my skills through seminars and workshops nationwide. I enjoy challenging myself by trying new ideas and thinking outside the box. I have the ability to make people look natural in front of the camera, while capturing them at their personal best.

GOALS

Outside of you having the best photography experience possible (and thus telling your friends), Jennifer's goal is "to balance my love for photography and my love for my family!" Being a Southeast Michigan native and resident, Jennifer strives to establish herself in her Grosse Pointe community by providing "photography for life".
